Traffic cones, known by various names such as pylons, witches' hats, road cones, highway cones, safety cones, or construction cones, serve as cone-shaped markers to safely and temporarily redirect traffic on roads or footpaths. They are commonly employed to establish separation or merge lanes during road construction projects or in response to automobile accidents. However, for long-term diversions, more durable markers or signs are typically used.
